You can install Linux (I suggest Ubuntu) on it and bring the little thing back to life without buying a WiFi card or anything. I discovered instead that associating to only one of the two bands of the router (either the 2.4 or the 5 GHz) was solving my issue. I have my computer connected with an Ethernet cable to my Internet Modem. But Apple's site says it is. Another good solution is to use one of the VPN services out there. seriously.
