Prying the battery up from its adhesive was the hardest part of this repair, and yes, I did break the spudger thingy. The LCD and back plate will remove in one piece as they are glued together. Do not pull directly up. Use a spudger to flip up the white plastic tab holding the ribbon cable "3" in place. I thought it wouldn't matter till my friend said it might attach the antenna. The switch that you stuck to the bracket by removing the tape backing must also be in the muted position (pushed down toward the back of the case).
i too replaced the glass digitizer screen and my lcd and now i can't get any sort of display to show up on my iPhone at all. When you read the guide it tells you how to remove the ribbon. It's cheap plastic. The part that came in was sufficient, and I thought the guide was pretty good.
